PhD Conference 2019

After several years without a conference, PRIS (Peace Research in Sweden) is happy to

announce a new PhD-level Peace Research conference, this year to be held in

Gothenburg, September 5-6, 2019.

We aim to bring together Sweden-based early career scholars, foremost PhD students,

who conduct research on Peace and Conflict-related issues. We are looking forward to

contributions from International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology,

Psychology, Area Studies, Communications, and other disciplines.

We welcome both paper and panel proposals on the various theoretical and

substantive challenges related to Peace and Conflict research, as well as on other

pressing issues in the field. Panel sessions will be 90 minutes long and will consist of

4-5 papers, and one chair plus discussant. Panel proposals may specify papers but

should also keep slots open for additional papers.

Notification of acceptance will be sent out by the end of April 2019. There will be no

conference fee. Conference lunch and snacks are covered. We are also in the process of

applying for additional funds. As soon possible, we will update participants about

potential additional funds for accommodation and/or travel.

This conference is organized by PRIS and hosted by the School of Global Studies at the
