PRIS Conference 2024 (28-29 November):
Peace and Conflict Research in Challenging Times

Peace Research in Sweden (PRIS) is an academic association that gathers peace researchers in Sweden. The biennial National Conference on Peace and Conflict Research in Sweden 2024 will be hosted by the School of Global Studies, University of Gothenburg. The conference will feature paper panels about ongoing research, as well as a keynote address and/or panel discussion on the conference theme “Peace and Conflict Research in Challenging Times.”


We welcome paper proposals on topics within peace and conflict research, broadly defined. These may include, but are not limited to:


  • Contemporary conflicts and violence
  • Militarization, defence and international order
  • Climate and conflict
  • Gender, peace, and security
  • Peacekeeping and intervention
  • Conflict resolution and peacebuilding
  • Democracy, governance and political violence
  • Civil resistance, peace movements and local perspectives on peace
  • Memory, justice and post-war reconstruction


It is also possible to propose a panel consisting of 3-5 papers, a chair and discussant. Submit your paper or panel proposal electronically to: pris2024@globalstudies.gu.se

Deadline: 19 June 2024.


Paper proposals should include: name, affiliation and position (if multiple authors, indicate who is planning to attend the conference), author contact details (e-mail address), paper title and an abstract of maximum 200 words.


Panel proposals should include the information above for all papers, plus a panel title and abstract and a chair and discussant.
