PhD Conference 2023

PhD Conference 2023:
Lund University,
12–13 October

Peace Research in Sweden (PRIS) is a research network that brings together scholars from different disciplinary backgrounds, providing a platform to share novel and emerging research on peace and conflict dynamics across the globe.

In order to encourage cooperation between PhD students working on peace and conflict issues, Lund University will host the biennial PRIS PhD Conference between 12-13 October 2023. We aim to bring together PhD students based at Swedish universities working with peace and conflict-related issues. We look forward to contributions from the fields of Peace and Conflict Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Area Studies, Human Geography, Human Ecology, Sustainability Studies, and more.

The conference will feature paper panels as well as workshops on academic career, academic publishing and fieldwork in (post-)conflict areas. We welcome paper proposals on topics related to research on peace and conflict, broadly defined, from PhD students based at Swedish universities.

  • Submit your paper proposal via submission form.
  • The submission deadline is 16 August 2023.
  • The paper proposal should include a paper title, an abstract (max 200 words), your name, institutional affiliation, and position, as well as your email address.
  • Notification of acceptance will be sent out by 20 August 2023 at the latest.

There is no conference fee for attendees. Lunch, fika and dinner will be provided during the conference days. We are also looking into the possibility of providing funding for accommodation,

and will share opportunities along with notification of acceptance in August.
